RYC Dialler
Route your calls automatically through Record Your Call
Q What is it?
It's a small box that connects to any analogue telephone line and automatically dials the Record Your Call access number for you before every call. This is ideal for customers who either use Record Your Call often, or need to ensure that calls on a particular phone or line are always recorded.
Q How does it work?
You simply plug our box into your existing telephone line, then plug your phone(s) into it. In future, each time you call out from any of the phones connected to the box, every call will be routed through Record Your Call.
Q Does the RYC Box need power in order to work?
No, it is powered by the phone line that it is plugged into.
Q Will it record all calls?
Yes, the box records every call unless you specify the types of calls you need recording upon ordering. You can specify just certain destinations, for example, mobiles or landlines.
Q Can I move it between lines?
Yes you can, but if the new line has a different telephone number then you should add that number into your Numbers I can From list to avoid needing a PIN to retrieve the recorded calls.
Q Can I take the box abroad?
Yes you can, but be aware that the access code will need to be updated before it will work outside of the country that it was provided for. For example, if we provided it for the UK, then it will need to be reconfigured for another country before it is plugged in.
Q Our line has to dial 9 for an outside line, will this be a problem?
No, just make us aware of this fact when you place your order and we will program the RYC Box to this effect.
Q What about recording inbound calls; is this possible with the box?
No, this is a dialler box only and it does not record incoming calls. To record incoming calls you can get free incoming number from within your account for this purpose.
Q What are the implications of adding a box to this line?
- Every call made on this line will go through Record Your Call, and therefore will be recorded
- You will pay our access charges for every call instead of the usual call charges on your account
- Devices such as burglar alarms, fax machines, Sky boxes and others won't work correctly if plugged into this box
Q How long does it take to get setup with the RYC Box and do I need to change my phone line or incur any other costs?
The RYC Box is posted for next day delivery to your premises. As soon as you plug the device into the phone line socket, it's ready to use. You can still record your calls whilst you're waiting for the box to arrive - just dial the access number yourself before making the call. You won't need to do this once the box has arrived and you've plugged it in.
Q What warranty comes with the RYC Box?
The box comes with a lifetime warranty of your Record Your Call account. If the box fails at any time, we will replace it free of charge as long as you have an active subscription.
Q What about 999 calls and star services, can I still use those?
Yes, the RYC Box will allow those types of calls to bypass the box and they won't be routed through Record Your Call.
